1,100 Types of Free Surgeries for Delhiites Now

NEW DELHI: Residents of Delhi, irrespective of their income, can avail the health benefits provided by Arvind Kejriwal led AAP government. The benefits include 1,016 surgeries to the existing list of 86 free surgeries earlier. This can be availed at the private hospitals too without capping, which includes cancer, neonatal and treatment of various borne illness.



The AAP government has expanded the scheme to make it compete with the Ayushman Bharat Yojna of Modi government, which offers free treatment up to five lakhs at any empanelled provate hospital.


To avail it, the patient would need to visit any government hospital, where they would analyse the patient's condition as to surgery if required, but cannot be performed there at a time within 30 days. The doctors will have right to refer those patients to the empanelled private hospitals.


While, the patients need to submit a residence proofs with an OPD slip containing referral to the said hospital, thereafter, an authorisation form which is available at the (each empanelled hospital) to the concerned officer of Delhi Arogya Kosh (DAK), who can further issue an authorisation letter for treatment to be conducted at the said hospital.


According to sources, more than 4,000 patients have received cashless treatment already till June this year across 56 private hospitals under this scheme.
