Commissionery BJP Leaders Irked at Being Denied Poll Tickets

PALAMAU: In Jharkhand, the Bharatiya Janata Party is trying hard to keep its rebel leaders connected as almost over a dozen leaders have expressed their anger at not getting tickets for the Assembly polls. Some of the leaders have even opened a front against the party and are preparing to contest the state Assembly elections independently.



The BJP is in a damage control mode in Jharkhand as the party is facing a serious revolt from within. They have sent their representative such as Om Mathur, Dharmpal Singh, Anpurna Devi, Sanjay Seth and many others to deal with.  


According to sources, as many as 13 BJP leaders, including incumbent legislators, Union minister, 8 first-timers and 5 turncoats, have opened the front against BJP and many of them are even working to contest the polls independently.


The BJP has already finalised over 40 Assembly tickets out of 81 in the state, and to win the target of over 65 seats, this time the party has denied ticket to 13 leaders, including seven incumbent legislators who had contested Assembly polls on BJP tickets in 2014.


Sources have confirmed that BJP leader Alakh Pandey, Bhagat Singh Sahu and Girinath Singh are angry for not getting a ticket from Garhwa constituency. 


It has been learnt that Girinath Singh has asked his supporters to vote in favour of other than BJP candidate. Even, Mr. Singh is not visible in the areas where election is held, a source close to him told us that he will be out from Garhwa till poll date.


Anant Pratap Deo is angry for not getting a ticket from the Bhawnathpur seat, and he filled nomination as independent candidate from his native. The former BJP district president Raghuraj Pandey is also incensed for not given ticket from the same assembly seat.


Om Prakash Keshri, incumbent district president seems also annoyed with party leadership, as he wanted to contest from Daltongunj assembly seat; however, ticket was not given to him. So, is Manoj Singh, who contested the 2014 Assembly polls on a BJP ticket from Daltongunj, is angry for not getting a ticket this time. While, Sanjay Singh is contesting as Independent candidate, who was also in queue to have the party ticket for poll.


From Hussainabad, Col. Sanjay Singh wished to contest from his area, while others Praful Singh, Vinod Singh were also in queue to get the ticket, but none of them were given it. Therefore, they are also not happy with party decision and working to defeat the runner.


While, current MLA from Chhatarpur, and a kin of MP Vishnu Dayal Ram, Radha Krishna Kishore has already goodbye to BJP and joined other political outfit to contest in protest of not getting the BJP ticket.


Attention-grabbing act that BJP has done at Panki assembly seat. The BJP has chosen to give ticket to a person, who is accused of murder of his own warden, who was working in Oxford School Ranchi. The victim's family members have also protested during Dr. Mehta's induction to the party at Ranchi office.


While, Dr. Amit Prakash, a doctor turned politician was working in this areas since 2015. Apart from Dr. Prakash, Amit Tiwari, who contested from this in 2014, Prem Singh, convenor of assembly seat, Lovely Gupta and others were also in queue, but none of them were given ticket to contest from.


Not only local leaders and MLAs in the state, but several BJP parliamentarians and Ministers have also expressed their anger to party leaders.


“The party has already made it clear that it will not back-track from its decision that has already been taken, and the party will adopt a strategy to keep every worker connected, including those are angry over ticket issues,” Several leaders are angry due to not getting a ticket for the Assembly polls, but their grievances are being heard by the party and the party will resolve this issue.
