Defence Minister Holds Meeting with IAF Commanders

NEW DELHI: Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh holds meeting with Indian Air Force (IAF) to review the regional security situation. 



The top IAF's commandors will describe the security situation of the region, including cyber, space, drone and artificial intelligence, the official said.


Adding that, the official said that considering arising situation in the region, particular with our immediate neighbour and beyond, the short and long terms operational capabilities will also be discussed during it.


The IAF's challenge will also be discussed and its ambitious plan to be mainstreamed and modernised speedily. They can also highlights several other aspect related to them as well.


They can also deliberating on how the IAF can compliment government's efforts to enhance the defence manufacturing capabilities of the country, particularly through acquisitions under the strategic partnership model.


The government announced the strategic partnership model in May 2017 under which select private firms were to be roped in to build key military platforms like submarines and fighter jets in India in partnership with global defence majors.
