“The mandate reflects the confidence reposed in Modi. The electorate has given another term to the NDA, as it wants the PM to continue the work initiated in last five years”, Mritunjay Kumar, Gypsum Management Consultancy.
A corporate-turned politician, Mritunjay Kumar now, who is an ardent supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, keenly and silently working for the farmers across the country. He obtains his Post Graduate Degree from 'Glasgow University London'. In our hour long conversation, he talks on number of issues prevailing in the country. He puts on global prospective on Agriculture, farmer distress, job creation, GDP etc

Rural Economy and farmer distress
We are demanding for implementation of recommendation of Swaminathan Commission, whereby 50 percent profit on input cost should be given to farmers, and we have promised of that. Apart from these, inherent issues of strengthening infrastructural facilities, irrigation, market, cheaper land, seeds, pesticides and other input costs would also be discussed in the meet, says Mritunjay Kumar, Executive Member of BJP Kishan Morcha and a think tank of the unit.
Mr. Kumar, who has been closely following party's delineate, and was also part of the team which participated in designing the manifesto especially for farmers. India, still believed to be farmer's country, in era – the country was depend upon the agriculture and its based economy – which seems vanishing at this point of time. It is due to policy paralysis of the previous governments. The rural economy was the back-bone of the country, and again the incumbent government wants to restore its position now.
Challenges being faced in the form of cancer as a by-product of extensive pesticides contaminated farming and dwindling quality of crops. The challenges ahead of disaster management and challenges ahead for different states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat etc, where massive blow happens during the rainy season. Millions of people are displaced due to this, so we have to find out the root causes and its foremost solution. He added.
India needs a robust system; enable our farmers so that their income can be doubled by 2022 which is the vision of our prime minister. PM Modi has said it time and again that our focus would be to empower our farmers under the 'Blue Revolution' we have made 26 per cent progress as far as far rearing of fish is concerned, and our dairy industry has significantly progressed and goes upto 24 per cent so far. So all I want to see the dream of it coming true in days to come.
Job loss and unemployment
Undeniably, there has been job loss. But, it is not because of the government and its policy – lot of schemes were launched in order to maintain the employments in the country. Mudra Yojna, Startup India schemes, even the states are also providing some schemes for youth. And I would like to appeal them to be job givers, instead job seekers alone. The job losses are due to under- preparedness in adapting to newer technologies. It is the time of artificial intelligence which certainly reducing the jobs. On the other side the cost is also getting down which can be utilised other ways around. Also, the workforces have to adopt the new technologies with changing time. The industry employs almost 4 million people, if they want to be retained should verse with what has been given to them. The employability will not go down if we apply innovation which is the need of hour.
Fluctuating GDP Data
There could be debate on GDP data, but we will have to understand its methodology of calculation. It appears that people talk without knowing the fact; "overestimation of GDP" hypothesis crafted by Subramanian, who until last year was advising the finance ministry on almost all economic aspects and had penned the last Economic Survey of India.
Look! His [Subramanian] claim has politico-economic reason. India's current GDP calculation methodology is at par with the country's global standing as a responsible, transparent and well-managed economy even after frequent global financial turmoils. This change is in line with other countries that have changed their methodologies in line with SNA 2008 and revised their respective GDP figures. On an average, real GDP estimates looked an increase of 0.7% amongst other countries.
At the same time, “India's GDP estimation methodology is by no means a perfect exercise and the ministry of statistics and program implementation is working on multiple aspects to improve the accuracy. However, the direction and pace of improvement is commendable and as of today the methodology is at par with its global standing." It is wrong to suggest that the views of experts have not been taken into account while changing its base.
Performance
Five years of the Modi government from 2014 – 2019 could be termed as most decisive. They have delivered successfully on all segments; however, more have to be done in the second term. Our internal security strengthens the way it has never been in previous 10 years of Congress party's tenure. External threats, J&K in particular where hundreds of terrorists were neutralised, ratio of infiltration is significantly reduced, and local terrorists' handlers were arrested. So all these achievements took place in last five years only. Government is cautiously moving ahead to remove controversial acts like Article 370 and 35A.
The National Register of Citizens (NRC) another responsibility that the incumbent government has to do. It was prepared was in 1951 when after conduct of the Census of 1951, the NRC was prepared by recording particulars of all the persons enumerated during that Census. The NRC will be now updated to include the names of those persons (or their descendants) who appear in the NRC, 1951, or in any of the Electoral Rolls up to the midnight of 24th March, 1971 or in any one of the other admissible documents issued upto mid-night of 24th March, 1971, which would prove their presence in Assam or in any part of India on or before 24th March, 1971.
This government is committed to work for people stand in last row. India has not been able to provide the basic facilities to its citizens which are their fundamental rights, no drinking water, quality health, affordable house, education etc. Though billion of money is routed for it, Modiji is doing this now – the agenda of this government is extremely clear to provide full proofs pucca house for its entire citizen by 2024, almost 1/3 rd of its citizen get health card after seventy years and lot more to be done.
