RANCHI: On his first day in the office of the Chief Minister, Hemant Soren withdrew cases lifted by the previous government. The protesters, who had taken up Pathalgarhi movement and held demonstration against the 2016 amendment bill relating to 'twin tenancy act' (Santhal Pargana Tenancy and Chhotanagpur Tenancy Act).
“The cabinet decided that cases lodged against those who were part of the Pathalgarhi movement and the demonstrations against the amendment bill to the CNT/SNT Acts be withdrawn”, said Ajoy Kumar Singh, the secretary of the cabinet coordination and vigilance department.
The CM along with his newly formed cabinet called the first cabinet meeting and took the decision to withdraw the cases.
