World's Top Cardiologist, Dr. Indranil Basu Ray to Attend Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) in Bengaluru

NEW DELHI: Dr. Indranil Basu Ray, an Indian-Origin American, distinguished Cardilogist to address the Indian Science Congess Association (ISCA) to be held in Bengaluru in Januray next year. Bengaluru is hosting the next edition of the Indian Science Congress whose theme is 'Science and Technology: Rural Development'.

Dr. Basu, 51, who originally from Calcutta, went to USA three decades ago, and settled-down in city of United State of America. He is part of several intitiatives started by the governement of India, comprising the visiting faculty of AIIMS Rishikesh, who had also orgnised the World Yoga Congreess at Haridwar in 2016 in which more than thirty thoudsands guests across globe were invited.


Dr. Indranil Basu, an ex-faculty of Harvard Medical School, world's best known for Cardiology. He also holds several prestigiuos positions in the field of Cardiology in the United States.


The 107th edition is being organised by the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Kolkata, and will be held at the GKVK campus from January 3 to 7, 2020, and is likely to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


Over 20,000 delegates comprising Nobel laureates, renowned scientists, policy makers, and students from across the world are expected to participate. The country's premier science, technology, and research organisations, including ISRO, DRDO, and BHEL, will exhibit gadgets and devices they have developed.


From agriculture and forestry science to plant sciences, the congress will have 14 thematic areas. Other major events include Children's Congress, Women's Science Congress, and a science exhibition.


For the first time, an exclusive session on 'Farmers' Science Congress' is being held. Farmers from across the country will deliberate on issues related to rural and agricultural development. Paper presentation and e-poster competitions will be held for students, and two will be chosen from each category for an award comprising a prize of ₹25,000.
