PALAMAU: Unprecedented! The people taking training to participate in upcoming assembly poll have claimed that they were not given lunch at all, only tea and two biscuits are being served, instead. We are there in training session for more than eight hours, however, no food is served here at Palamau district.
While, at Garhwa district, which is nearly 30 km far from Palamau district, is serving complete foods such as rice, pulses, papad and vegetables to its trainees, the claimants said. They were also of the opinion that we have received the similar treatment during the Lok Sabha election too, even we got less amount which election commission (EC) must look into, 'they added'.
Expressing anger the trainees said that, “till date, training has been organised thrice for assembly poll; dated October 13, at block level, November 13 and 21 respectively at district level. However, nothing served out except tea and two biscuits”.
One of the trainer, who often called for delivering session said that, 'even I have not received money of Rs: 600 against the training performed in Lok Sabha election, some of them had got Rs: 600, but later we heard that DC Sahab has asked to return those amount too, he stated.
We have requested the official, including DDC, who stays away for making any commitment in this regard, another trainees told the GP. Even we spoke to officers who came on November 21 to give more than tea and two biscuits, who didn't say anything, but suggest to contact high rank officials for the same.
Talking to 'The Garhwa Post' on this matter, Palamau Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC), Bindu Madhav Singh dismisses the claim and said that, trainees want that they should get money instead lunch packet, last time, we have served them lunch packet but they protested against it, and demanded money instead, therefore, we decided to add the remaining amount while paying them after end of poll.
Source within Election Commission (EC), has said that there is no crunch of funds for either party; adequate funds are allocated to each district of the state in order to have quality training to the staffs and also to arrange necessary materials for them including foods. If (EC) receives such complaint, would take necessary action against them.
